Cost depends almost entirely on whether both systems have a decent API. We check that during the audit and tell you before you commit — some connections are a week, some aren't worth doing at all.
The average small business now runs six to ten separate systems — a website, a scheduler, a CRM, accounting, payments, email marketing, maybe a point of sale. Each one was a sensible purchase. Together they form a set of islands, and the ferry between them is a person copying fields from one screen into another.
That copying is where the money leaks. Not dramatically, but constantly: an hour a day of re-keying, a customer who never got added to the follow-up list, an invoice raised from a job that was marked complete three weeks ago. Integration work removes the ferry. A booking on the website creates the customer record, the calendar entry and the deposit invoice, and nobody touches a keyboard to make that happen.

What if one of our systems has no API?
Then we say so early, because it changes the answer. Some products expose a partial API, some allow scheduled file exchange, and some are genuinely closed. When a clean route doesn't exist we'll tell you what the fragile options look like and let you decide — we won't quietly build something held together with screen-scraping and hope.
Can you use Zapier or Make instead of building something?
Often, and we'll recommend it when it fits. Those tools are excellent for straightforward, low-volume connections. Custom becomes worth it when the logic gets conditional, the volume makes per-task pricing painful, or you need error handling and audit history that no-code platforms don't really give you.
What happens when a vendor changes their API?
It happens, and it's the main reason integrations need a caretaker. On a maintenance plan we monitor the connections, get alerted on failures, and handle vendor changes as part of the plan. Without one, you'd want someone available when a sync starts failing.
Is our data safe moving between systems?
Credentials are stored in a secrets manager rather than in code, connections are encrypted in transit, and we request the narrowest permission scope each integration actually needs. If you handle payment or health data we'll scope the compliance requirements explicitly before starting.
